Summary:A metering strip (12) for an inking unit of a printing machine for metering printing ink, in particular a scraper blade or a doctor blade, is fastened in a swivellable holder and has a cylindrical end (13) which has a radius in the range between 0.3 and 1.5 mm and which, pressed onto an inking roller (6), forms, with said roller, a metering gap for the printing ink to be metered. Axially running cutouts (14), formed on either side of the metering strip (12), adjoin the cylindrical, wear-resistant end (13) which covers an angular region of more than 180 DEG .
