Summary:The anti-skid protection according to the invention for the wheels of motor vehicles, lorries etc. contains a radial ring-like carrier which is to be attached to the hub of the associated wheel with the same bolts which also serve to mount the wheel, and which has a multiplicity of radial guides which are offset with respect to one another in terms of angles, in which guides in each case the leg of a hook element which serves as an anti-skid protection or anti-slip means is guided, which element serves to engage in the transverse direction on the circumference of the tyre of the wheel. The legs of the hook element are connected to springs which endeavour to move them to the centre of the wheel in order to ensure that the hook elements rest against the circumference of the tyre. For the use of the vehicle under normal conditions, the hook elements can be separated from the radial ring-like carrier, if they have been released by the associated springs, without the carrier having to be removed from the wheel.
