Summary:In a method for emptying a drum (6) for the treatment of, in particular, metal parts into a container (17) having an aperture which is substantially flush with an aperture (11) that is provided in the outer surface of the drum (6) and can be closed by a lid, provision is made, in order to avoid damage to the parts during emptying, for the container (17) initially to be arranged with its aperture in front of the upward-facing aperture (11) of the drum (6), freed of its lid, and then for the container (17) and the drum (6) to be pivoted together about the longitudinal axis of the drum (6) for emptying until their apertures lie below the longitudinal axis of the drum (6), and finally for the container (17) to be removed from the aperture (11) of the drum (6).
