Summary:of formula (I) are new. (in which R' and R" = H or 1-4C alkyl R and R1 - 1-6C alkyl which are opt. branched, opt. interrupted by O or opt. substd. by di(m)ethylamino gps.; R2 = H, 1-6C alkyl or 6-10C aryl; and R3 = H or methyl). (I) are made e.g. by reacting N,N'-dialkyl-alkylenediamines R.NH.C(R')2-NH-R1 (II) with alpha,beta-unsatd. monocarboxylic acid (derivs.) esp. the esters, at 20-200 degrees C. (I) pref. have R' and R" = H or CH3; R2 = H, CH3 or phenyl; and R2 = H or (if R2 = H) CH3. (I) are useful catalyst in prodn. of (foamed) polyurethanes by reacting polyisocyanates with cpds. contg. >=2 NCO-reactive H atoms and the usual additives.
