Summary: | Paving slabs, for laying paths, are designed so that, inspite of using units of a relatively large size, such as 50 x 50 cm, it is possible to lay a patterned paving, with many ornamentations and divisions practicable even in a small area. For this purpose the top layer of the slab (8) is made up from a group of stones, or tiles (6), which may be prefab. The slab is of material which sets hard after shaping, tiles being embedded into it while it is still plastic. A concrete mixture, is suitable for the basic mass (7), and the surface of the tile joint gaps can be filled with a special jointing substance (9). The group of tiles can be connected by a commonly shard tile carrier, formed in with them, and this can provide the pattern for the joint slits or grooves. A press device can be used, with the press plate (4), in the form of a pad of compressible material. |
