Summary:The rotating permanent magnetic wheel (13) induces an ac into the generator winding (11). The negative half waves are blocked by the two diodes (15) and the positive half waves charge the capacitor (16). The inductive impulse transmitter regulator winding (22) is inductively coupled to the iron core (12) of the generator to produce a number of low negative impulses which are blocked by the regulator diodes (24) but allow the positive impulse to discharge the ignition capacitors (16) via the thyristors (17, 17a). The ignition timing is progressively advanced relatively to increased engine speed by fixing the regulatore core to a conductor plate, which also carries the generator core (12), to give an air gap between the regulator core laminations and generator core of 12mm. The air gap between the regulator pole shoe and the rotating pole shoe is 0.8 mm plug or minus 10%.
