Abstract A denaturzing electrode having a face which incorporates grooves having inclined sides that are positioned so the entire electrode face is divided into a adjacent pyramids making all active layers (3a, 3b, 3c) of the electrode available for precipitating matter. Es wird eine denaturierende Niederschlagselektrode zur Luftkeim- und Luftschadstoffbeseitigung beschrieben, die dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, daß sie eine Pyramidenstruktur aufweist, so daß die denaturierende Schicht mittels Gräben in viele einzelne Pyramiden aufgeteilt wird, an die sich die Schadstoffpartikel anlagern. Die einzelnen Pyramiden sind aus übereinander liegenden sauren, neutralen und alkalischen Filzschichten aufgebaut. Die Einzel-Filzschichten sind nur wenige Millimeter dick.
