Abstract | The disclosure relates to a stent, in particular for treating carotid artery diseases, including a tubular braided mesh made of wires which are each helically wound about a longitudinal axis of the braided mesh and cross over and under one another. In an idle state, the braided mesh has a proximal cylindrical portion and a distal cylindrical portion which are connected to one another via a transition portion, wherein the proximal cylindrical portion has a different cross-sectional diameter and a different porosity compared to the distal cylindrical portion. |
