Abstract The printing method has the position error between the carrier material to be printed (12) and the toner image transfer band (78) upon contact of the carrier material with the toner image transfer band used for determining the position of the carrier material relative to the toner image and the position error upon printing a second image is determined from the length of the previously printed toner image. The position of the carrier material is matched to the position of the toner image in dependence on the determined position errors, for ensuring accurately aligned printing. An independent claim for a device for providing accurately aligned printed images on a carrier material via an electrophotographic printer or copier is also included. Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren und eine Anordnung zum Erzeugen positionsgenauer Druckbilder auf einem Trägermaterial (12) mit Hilfe eines elektrofotografischen Druckers oder Kopierers. Beim Kontaktieren eines zu bedruckenden Trägermaterial (12) auftretender Positionsfehler der Position des Trägermaterials (12) zu einem auf dem Tonerbildträger (78) vorhandenen Tonerbild wird ermittelt. Abhängig von dem ermittelten Positionsfehler wird bei jedem nachfolgenden Kontaktieren des zu bedruckenden Trägermaterials (12) mit dem Tonerbildträger (78) die Position des Trägermaterials (12) zu dem Tonerbild vor dem Kontaktieren derart angepasst, dass das Trägermaterial (12) und das Tonerbild im Wesentlichen positionsfehlerfrei zueinander angeordnet sind.
