Abstract The method involves injecting a battery cell by a pressing force through a pressing operation (3). The pressing force is monitored (4), and the pressing operation is stopped (6) if the pressing force reaches a predetermined value. The pressing process is stopped if a predetermined deformation of the required pressing force of the battery cell is varied. An alteration of rigidity of the battery cell is determined based on an alteration of the pressing force, and the pressing operation is stopped if the rigidity of the battery cell reaches the predetermined value. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a battery cell (2) a battery module comprising a battery cell (3) a battery comprising a battery cell (4) a motor vehicle.
