The device has a wiper arm (4) hingedly mounted. The wiper arm is held at a ball-and-socket joint (6). The wiper arm is driven by linear motors (8-10) for producing the wiping movement around a rotational axis of the ball-and-socket joint. The linear motors strike at the wiper arm. The wiper arm is rigidly designed between the ball-and-socket joint and a coupling point of a wiping blade at the wiper arm. The wiper arm is subjected with a force around another rotational axis of the ball-and-socket joint in a direction of a window pane to be cleaned. Eine Scheibenwischeinrichtung weist einen Wischarm auf, der an einem Kugelgelenk gehalten und von mindestens einem Antriebsmotor zur Erzeugung der Wischbewegung um mindestens eine Drehachse des Kugelgelenks angetrieben ist.
