Abstract The gas expansion chamber (1) is used in heat exchangers (3) between media of which at least one is a fluid (2). It is a constructive and integral component of the exchanger. Being a chamber unable to be ventilated independently, it is located in either a supply point (1a) of the heat exchanger or in the heat exchanger (1b,1c) itself. Die Erfindung besteht in einem Gas-Ausdehnungsraum zur Druckstoßdämpfung bei Wärmetauschern (3) zum Wärmetausch zwischen Medien, von denen mindestens eines flüssig ist (2), der ein konstruktiver und integraler Bestandteil (1) des Wärmetauschers ist und als nicht von selbst entlüftbarer Raum entweder in mindestens einem Anschluss des Wärmetauschers (1a) oder im Wärmetauscher selbst untergebracht ist (1b, 1c).
