The motor vehicle body has a crossbeam (7) to which an instrument panel can be attached and that is attached to at least one connection point of a body part (2). Several connection points (3-6) for attachment of the crossbeam are provided at different positions of the body part. The connection points are provided at different heights of the body part. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle with an inventive body.
