The tube (1) has a tubular sleeve (13). A stripe (14) is marked on the outer surface of the sleeve, to indicate the orientation of the sleeve about its axis. Length indications may be marked axially along the length of the sleeve. The stripe extends along the length of the sleeve and can be detected by touch. The stripe may be a raised portion of the sleeve or a depression along the sleeve. Ein flexibles Rohr (1) für ein Endoskop enthält eine rohrförmige Hülle (13). An der Außenumfangsfläche der Hülle (13) ist eine Anzeigevorrichtung (14) vorgesehen, die die Orientierung der Hülle um die Hüllenachse und/oder eine auf die Längsrichtung der Hülle (13) bezogene Längeninformation anzeigt. Die Anzeigevorrichtung enthält mindestens eine Streifung (14), die sich in Längsrichtung der Hülle (13) erstreckt. Die Streifung (14) ist so ausgebildet, daß sie durch Berührung erfaßbar ist.
