The alarm protection device comprises a counterweight tower trolley, two parallel trusses and a counterweight tower body and is characterized in that the center of a pulley support of the counterweight tower trolley of the counterweight tower body is provided with a displacement monitoring hole; a steel wire rope penetrates through the displacement monitoring hole; one end of the steel wire rope is fixed with one truss and the other end of the steel wire rope is connected with a detecting limiting switch; the detecting limiting switch is fixed at the other truss fixed at the other side; therefore, an abnormal displacement alarm signal mechanism of the counterweight tower trolley of an equilateral triangle is formed; and the detecting limiting switch is connected to a PLC system alarm detecting point. The alarm protection device for the counterweight tower of the belt conveyor has following beneficial effects: the alarm protection device is capable of completely monitoring displacement of the counterweight tower trolley when a belt of a large-sized conveyor starts and helps to ensure safety protection of the starting of the belt; the belt is prevented from being torn by parking in time; more serious equipment failure is avoided; and the alarm protection of a belt conveyor for bulk-cargo operation has promotional value at the port.
