Abstract The utility model discloses a hydrophobic test device of a composite insulator. The hydrophobic test device comprises a rack and a longitudinal guide rail, wherein a cross arm for suspending an insulator string is arranged in the rack; the longitudinal guide rail is arranged in the rack and is provided with a slide block which slides up and down along the guide rail; an image acquisition device and a water fog spray nozzle are fixedly arranged on the slide block; the water fog spray nozzle is used for spraying fog to the insulator string; the image acquisition device is positioned above the water fog spray nozzle; the slide block is provided with a locking bolt for locking the slide block on the guide rail; and the water fog spray nozzle and the image acquisition device are connected with a computer and are controlled by the computer. By means of a water spray stage method, computer image recognition software is adopted in place of human eyes, so that man-made subjective influence can be avoided.
