Abstract A liquid crystal display device includes first and second substrates facing and spaced apart from each other; a gate line on an inner surface of the first substrate; a data line crossing the gate line to define a plurality of first sub-pixel regions for displaying color, and a second sub-pixel region for adjusting a viewing angle; a thin film transistor connected to the data line and the gate line; a plurality of first pixel electrodes in each of the plurality of first sub-pixel regions; a plurality of first common electrodes alternating with the plurality of first pixel electrodes in each of the plurality of first sub-pixel regions; a second pixel electrode in the second sub-pixel region; a second common electrode in the second sub-pixel region, the second common electrode facing the second pixel electrode; and a liquid crystal layer between the first and second substrates, wherein a first common voltage is applied to the plurality of first common electrodes, and a second common voltage different from the first common voltage is applied to the second common electrode.
