Summary:It is an object of the present invention to provide a substance that can emit phosphorescence. Further, it is an object of the present invention to provide a light emitting element with favorable color purity. The present invention provides an organometallic complex having a structure represented by a general formula (1). A light emitting element that can exhibit red or reddish emission of light with favorable color purity can be obtained by using the organometallic complex of the present invention as aluminescent substance. In addition, a light emitting element that can emit light efficiently can be obtained by using the organometallic complex of the present invention as a sensitizer.
