Summary: | Systems and methods for high spatial and temporal resolution ultrasound imaging of microvessels in a subject are described. Ultrasound data is acquired from a region of interest in a subject to which a microbubble contrast agent has been administered. Ultrasound data is acquired as microbubbles move through or otherwise exist in a region of interest. The region of interest may include, for example, microvessels or other microvasculature in the subject. By imaging the microbubbles, a cross-correlation map between each microbubble image and a point spread function of the system may be generated. A high resolution, high contrast image of the microvasculature may then be generated using accumulation of the power-based cross-correlation maps.
