Summary: | Devices and methods provide system characterization, such as for operation of a respiratory therapy device. Pressure and flow signals from a therapy session may be analyzed to determine a profile representing pressure and flow characteristics of the system, such as where the system includes a delivery catheter and a patient interface having a vent. A pressure drop parameter may be derived based on a first function characterizing the curve and a second function characterizing a curve representing pressure and flow characteristics of a component of the system such that the parameter is characteristic of a pressure drop from a sensor in the therapy generator to the patient interface. The parameter may be derived from a difference between the first function and the second function. A signal for controlling the therapy generator may be generated to adjust a characteristic of the supplied airflow based on the pressure drop parameter.
