Abstract The invention discloses a preparation method of a biodegradable carboxymethyl cellulose-based thin film, relates to the field of preparation of carboxymethyl cellulose-based thin films, and aims to solve the problem that the water resistance and hydrophobicity of a carboxymethyl cellulose thin film in the prior art need to be improved. A carboxymethyl cellulose solution, a polyvinyl alcohol solution and citric acid are subjected to a cross-linking reaction under catalysis of sodium hypophosphite to improve hydrophobicity, and then palm wax and tween-80 are added to form a film. In order to further improve the hydrophobicity, the product can be soaked in a zinc chloride solution, ammonia water and a stearic acid ethanol solution and then dried.
