Abstract | The invention belongs to the technical field of metallurgy, and particularly relates to low-temperature spherical tank steel and a production method thereof.The low-temperature spherical tank steel adopts an LF + RH refining + controlled rolling and controlled cooling + hardening and tempering process route, and by controlling parameters such as refining slag and rolling reduction rate, the internal quality of a plate blank and the grain structure of a finished steel plate are improved, the metallographic structure is uniform, and the inclusion and segregation degree are reduced; and by adjusting controlled rolling and controlled cooling processes, the mechanical properties of the steel plate at low temperature such as low-temperature impact are improved, and the technical problems that the steel plate is insufficient in hardenability, unstable in core impact, high in plate shape control difficulty and insufficient in performance homogeneity are successfully solved.
