Abstract | The invention relates to a wound body. Provided is a wound body capable of reducing variations in optical characteristics of individual sheets cut from a long laminate. The wound body is obtained by winding a laminate including a substrate layer and a light-absorbing anisotropic layer formed on the substrate layer into a roll. The light-absorbing anisotropic layer is formed from a composition containing a dichroic dye and a liquid crystalline compound, has an absorption axis in a direction perpendicular to a plane of the light-absorbing anisotropic layer, and satisfies the relationship of formula (I). Axmax (z = 50 DEG) and Axmin (z = 50 DEG) are respectively the maximum value and the minimum value when the absorbance Ax (z = 50 DEG) is measured at 10 measurement points set on the light-absorbing anisotropic layer included in the laminate, and Axmax (z = 50 DEG)/Axmin (z = 50 DEG) < = 1.12 (I).
