Abstract The present technology relates to a battery module and a manufacturing method thereof. This battery module (100) is provided with: a plurality of battery cells (11) arranged side by side in a first direction and each having a rectangular shape; and two restraining members (43) that are provided so as to be aligned in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction with respect to the plurality of battery cells (11), and that restrain the plurality of battery cells (11) in the first direction. The two restraining members (43) include a plate-shaped portion (431) extending in a plane direction including a third direction orthogonal to the first direction and the second direction and the first direction.
