A purge device for use with a fluid valve is disclosed. The device includes a valve stem of the fluid valve. The valve stem has a first passage extending therethrough to receive a fluid. The apparatus also includes an orifice in fluid communication with the first passage and disposed on an outer surface of the valve stem or a fluid flow control element coupled to the valve stem.
