Abstract The invention relates to an old machine tool productivity detection method and system, and belongs to the technical field of machine tool online detection. According to the scheme, firstly, the action states of machine tool parts involved in all links in the machining process of corresponding parts of a machine tool are obtained; whether the machine tool completes a complete machining process including clamping or firmly adsorbing parts, rotating a main shaft, feeding and loosening the parts or not is judged according to the action states of the corresponding machine tool parts meeting the process requirements, and the current machining capacity of the corresponding parts is obtained by counting the number of times of completing the complete machining process by the machine tool within a certain time period. The method aims at productivity detection of old machine tool equipment, does not need to depend on manual data statistics, can achieve the statistics of the complete machining times of parts in a mutual
