Abstract | The invention provides a three-dimensional rainfall detection method and system suitable for a GPM DPR. According to the method, the recognition capability of thin-layer rainfall events in the atmosphere is greatly improved. Through refined three-dimensional analysis, the thin-layer rainfall phenomenon can be accurately identified even under the condition that the vertical profile is discontinuous or only a small number of distance libraries display rainfall. The rainfall state of adjacent distance library groups is comprehensively judged, a three-dimensional eight-connection analysis method is utilized, the detection range is expanded, the detection range is not limited to single perpendicularity, and a three-dimensional detection volume is constructed. In the three-dimensional detection volume, even if thin-layer rainfall is displayed discontinuously in the vertical direction, the thin-layer rainfall can be effectively captured by being combined with rainfall information of a surrounding distance library.
