Abstract The invention provides an optical fiber coating adhesion promoter with an adjustable refractive index and a preparation method thereof. The adhesion promoter has a structure as shown in a general formula. The refractive index and mechanical properties (softness/hardness) of the adhesion promoter are adjusted by selecting an acrylate structure, so that the adhesion promoter is matched with a target application scene, the performance of the coating is not influenced, siloxane groups in the silane coupling agent structure and hydroxyl groups on the surface of a bare optical fiber are subjected to chemical reaction, and the adhesion promoter is prepared. A carbon-carbon double bond group in a hydroxyl acrylate structure and a carbon-carbon double bond in the coating are subjected to a copolymerization reaction, so that the coating and a bare optical fiber form chemical bond linkage, and the coating is reliably coated on the surface of the optical fiber.
