The invention provides a method and device for judging the credibility of a cache file of an operating system, and the method comprises the steps: obtaining a first cache file stored by the operating system at a second moment, and determining the attribute information of the first cache file at the second moment; processing the attribute information of the first cache file at the second moment according to a preset algorithm to obtain a second cache parameter of the first cache file at the second moment; judging whether the second cache parameter is matched with the first cache parameter or not; when the second cache parameter is matched with the first cache parameter, a first cache file stored by the operating system at the second moment is determined as a hit cache file, and the hit cache file is used for indicating that the first cache file is a credible cache file. According to the method, the occupied space of the attribute information of the cache file is effectively reduced, and the space utilization r
