Abstract The invention relates to the technical field of preparation of lithium iron phosphate positive electrode materials of lithium ion batteries, in particular to a preparation method of a lithium iron phosphate positive electrode material. The method comprises the following steps: (a) carrying out grinding and solid-liquid separation on a first mixture containing an iron phosphate dehydrate raw material, a lithium source and a carbon source to obtain first slurry; adding water into the first slurry, and stirring to obtain second slurry; the water content of the iron phosphate dihydrate raw material is 5-70%; the solid content of the first slurry is 60%-90%; and (b) drying and calcining the second slurry.
