Abstract | The invention relates to a tyre (1) for a passenger vehicle, the performance of which is improved in terms of rolling resistance and which does not impair the lateral drift stiffness. The bead (50) is softened by using a low hysteresis material. Lateral drift stiffness is compensated by using a rigid and low-hysteresis sidewall layer (30). The volume of the compound layer having a viscoelastic loss Tan (delta) max of less than or equal to 0.10 in the lower region accounts for between 30% and 90% of the total volume of the lower region, and the shear stiffness modulus G '(M3) of the sidewall layer is in the range of [0.5; 10].
