Abstract The invention discloses a method for preparing an acetylene hydrochlorination catalyst by using a secondary gold resource, and belongs to the fields of hydrometallurgy, precious metal recovery and catalysis. The method specifically comprises the following steps: weighing a certain amount of waste electronic materials, dissolving and leaching metals in the waste electronic materials by using a thiosulfate radical-containing leaching method such as thiosulfate or copper-ammonia-thiosulfate or copper-ethidene diamine-thiosulfate, and carrying out solid-liquid separation to prepare a waste electronic resource leachate for later use; weighing a certain amount of activated carbon or modified activated carbon to dip (or adsorb) metal in the leachate; after adsorbing for a certain time, separating the adsorbent from the solution, and drying to obtain the catalyst.
