Abstract The invention relates to the technical field of secondary battery energy, in particular to a preparation method and application of a layered oxide sodium-ion battery positive electrode material. The preparation method comprises the following steps: by taking a sodium-containing compound and a transition metal compound as raw materials, preparing the unmodified layered oxide sodium-ion battery positive electrode material by a conventional preparation process; adding the positive electrode material and a polymer monomer into a low-boiling-point polar solvent, and carrying out ball milling in a ball mill; and stirring and volatilizing the ball-milled material mixed solution until no solvent is left to realize in-situ polymerization of the polymer monomer on the surface of the positive electrode material, and then drying, crushing and sieving to obtain the positive electrode material containing the polymer coating layer.
