Abstract The invention discloses a poultry egg detection system and method capable of improving the hatching rate, and relates to the technical field of poultry hatching. The method comprises the following steps: coding the number and development state of each sample poultry egg into a readable image, and etching or spraying the readable image on the surface of the corresponding poultry egg; according to the development state of each sample poultry egg, the hatching state consistency rate of all poultry eggs is obtained through calculation; judging whether the hatching state consistency rate of all the poultry eggs is lower than a set value or not; if yes, the overall development state of all the poultry eggs is obtained according to the development state distribution of all the poultry eggs, and the hatching environment of the poultry eggs is adjusted according to the overall development state of all the poultry eggs; if not, the development states of all the poultry eggs are obtained one by one to obtain the develop
