Abstract | The invention relates to a gripper device (1) for picking up, holding and putting down workpieces (2), and to a manipulator (4) having a gripper device (1). The gripper device (1) comprises a connection interface (3) for fastening to a manipulator (4) and a clamp gripper (5) having two clamp arms (6, 7). The clamp arms (6, 7) can be moved relative to each other by means of a clamp drive (8) and, in their closed position (9), define a clamping plane (10) extending between the clamp arms (6, 7). In the closed position (9) thereof, the clamp arms (6, 7) define a longitudinal clamp axis (11) which is parallel to the clamp arms (6, 7) and extends in the clamping plane (10).
