Abstract | The invention provides a traveling wave fault positioning method and device based on LMD decomposition. The method comprises the steps that traveling wave signals generated when a cable fault occurs are collected at the two ends of a cable fault point; lMD decomposition is carried out on the collected traveling wave signals, and the initial moment when the traveling wave signals arrive at the measuring end is determined through instantaneous frequency abrupt change points; and calculating the distance from the fault point to the measuring end by using the time when the traveling wave signal arrives at the measuring point. The device comprises an FPGA module and current transformer modules arranged at the measuring ends of the two ends of the cable respectively. In the positioning method, the LMD decomposition avoids the problems of endpoint effect and mode aliasing existing in the EMD decomposition method, and the arrival time of the traveling wave can be accurately obtained; on a positioning device, the meth |
