Abstract The invention discloses a soil slope stability analysis method based on a second-order cone programming finite element method. The method comprises the following steps: establishing a two-dimensional slope model and dividing grids; on the basis of a Hellinger-Reissner mixed variation principle and a finite element method, a rock-soil body elastoplasticity problem is constructed into a second-order cone programming problem based on a finite element frame, so that a second-order cone programming finite element method suitable for a classical continuum is established, and then a standard mathematical optimization solver is used for solving; a strength reduction method is introduced, a tolerance control parameter in a primitive-dual interior point method for solving an SOCP problem in MOSEK is adopted as a damage criterion with enough precision requirements, the safety coefficient of the slope is obtained through iterative search, and data such as displacement and a plastic zone of the slope can also be obtained
