Abstract | The invention belongs to the field of lithium ion batteries, and relates to a germanium-coated silica composite material as well as a preparation method and application thereof. The preparation method of the germanium-coated silicon oxide composite material comprises the following steps: modifying silicon monoxide powder by using a polymer surfactant to obtain a surface-modified silicon monoxide dispersion liquid, dissolving germanium dioxide in an alkali solution, adjusting the pH value to 6-8, uniformly mixing with the surface-modified silicon monoxide dispersion liquid, and drying to obtain the germanium-coated silicon oxide composite material. And uniformly mixing the obtained turbid liquid with a reducing agent, performing hydrothermal reduction reaction, filtering, washing the obtained filter residue with water until the washed solution is neutral, drying, and performing high-temperature sintering in a reduction type atmosphere to obtain the germanium-coated silica composite material.
