Abstract | The invention discloses an SNP (Single Nucleotide Polymorphism) molecular marker associated with the total nipple number of Sushan sows and application, and aims to solve the technical problem that the lactation requirement of piglets is difficult to meet due to insufficient total nipples of the Sushan sows at present. The SNP molecular marker is characterized in that G/A mutation exists in the 98511381th basic group of chromosome X based on a reference sequence of version 11.1 of international pig genome; detecting and determining the genotype of the 98511381th locus of the breeding pig chromosome X in the Sushan pig core group; the breeding method comprises the following steps: selecting a breeding pig individual with the 98511381th site of AG and AA genotypes, and eliminating a breeding pig individual with the site of GG genotype, so as to increase the frequency of the allele A of the site generation by generation, thereby increasing the number of nipples of offspring pigs.
