Abstract | A method for predicting urea crystal build-up in an engine system, in particular a method for predicting urea crystal build-up in an engine system when the engine system is operating according to a desired drive cycle, comprising: providing data representative of engine operating conditions of an internal combustion engine during the desired drive cycle; determining a value and time change of at least one exhaust parameter during a period of the desired drive cycle when the engine system is operating according to the data of the engine operating conditions; providing a reference relationship between the value and temporal variation of the at least one exhaust parameter and an expected urea crystal build-up in the engine system when the engine system is operating under different engine operating conditions; urea crystal build-up in the engine system when the engine system is operating according to the desired drive cycle is predicted by comparing the determined value and temporal variation of the at least one |
