Abstract A rotation limiting module for a steer-by-wire steering system is described. The rotation limiting module includes a housing in which a shaft portion is received, the shaft portion being rotatable about a central axis and being rotatably coupleable to or configured as part of a steering wheel shaft. Furthermore, a limiting disc is provided, which is coupled to the shaft part in a rotationally fixed and axially displaceable manner by means of a sliding guide, and which has an external thread, which is driven into the internal thread of the housing. Furthermore, the rotation limiting module comprises a first stop ring with a first stop wing and a second stop ring with a second stop wing, the two stop wings for limiting the rotation of the shaft portion being able to cooperate with the limiting disc.
