Abstract | Techniques for a priority-based encoder that computes a minimum value or a maximum value of a plurality of values are disclosed. In various embodiments, a maximum value or a minimum value of a plurality of input values is determined. For each of a set of possible values, a corresponding detection result is set to indicate whether at least one of the input values matches the possible value. The detection result is used to determine a maximum value or a minimum value among the plurality of input values.
