Abstract | The present disclosure relates to a method of differentiating the absence of excreta, a first type of excreta and a second type of excreta in an absorbent hygiene article, such as a diaper, internally or externally provided fixedly or removably with strip elements, the strip element includes a first temperature sensing element for detecting temperature and a first impedance sensing element for detecting impedance. The method comprises the steps of a first set of steps, the first set comprising the steps of: detecting a first temperature value with a first temperature sensing element; a first impedance value is detected with a first impedance sensing element.
