Abstract The invention relates to a method for straightening a sectional material. The method comprises the following steps: (1) mounting an upper die and a lower support which correspond to a straightening stress surface of the sectional material in size and shape; (2) the bent profile is placed on the two lower supports, and the distance between the two lower supports is adjusted; (3) starting the straightening device, and enabling the upper die to press the arched surface to gradually move downwards until the straightness is qualified; and (4) the upper die moves upwards to be separated from the profile, and the next section of profile is straightened. The sectional material straightening device comprises a base, a rack, a top cover, a hydraulic jack and an upper die base.
