Abstract The invention relates to the technical field of traditional Chinese medicine identification, and provides a method for determining vigor detection indexes of purple perilla seeds, which comprises the following steps: scanning the purple perilla seeds on a scanner to obtain phenotypic indexes of seed coats; germinating the purple perilla seeds and measuring the seed viability; performing correlation analysis on the phenotypic indexes and the viability to obtain correlation coefficients of the phenotypic indexes and the viability of the seeds; screening out the indexes of which the absolute values of the correlation coefficients are greater than or equal to 0.4 to obtain initial seed vigor detection indexes; selecting seeds from different sources and in different processing links to screen the preliminary seed vigor detection indexes, and determining the final seed vigor rapid detection index.
