Abstract | The invention provides an overcurrent protection circuit and a load driving device, which can maintain high overcurrent detection precision even when an output terminal is short-circuited to ground. An overcurrent protection circuit (100), which limits an output current (IOUT) flowing in an output transistor (11), has: a sense transistor (13) in which a sense current (Is1) proportional to the output current (IOUT) flows; a sense resistor (14) through which a sense current (Is1) flows; a current limiting circuit (30) that detects a sense voltage (VS) generated in the sense resistor (14) and controls a gate voltage (VG) of the output transistor (11); and a current correction circuit (40) that causes a correction sense current (Is2) to be added to the sense current (Is1) to flow through the sense resistor (14) on the basis of a difference voltage ([delta] V) between the drain voltage of the output transistor (11) and the drain voltage of the sense transistor (14).
