The invention provides a method of controlling a read request and a memory controller having a host device. The method of controlling a read request may include receiving, in a host device, a read request from a bus master, where the host device is coupled to a memory device through an interface; determining a configuration state of the reading request; comparing an attribute of the read request to a predetermined attribute stored in the host device; when the attribute of the reading request is matched with the preset attribute, adjusting the configuration state of the reading request; and transmitting a read request having the adjusted configuration state from the host device to the memory device via the interface. 本发明提供了控制读取请求的方法和具有主机装置的存储器控制器。该控制读取请求的方法可以包括：在主机装置中从总线主控器接收读取请求，其中，主机装置通过接口联接至存储器装置；确定该读取请求的配置状态；将该读取请求的属性与存储在主机装置中的预定属性进行比较；当读取请求的属性与预定属性匹配时，对读取请求的配置状态进行调整；以及经由接口将具有调整后的配置状态的读取请求从主机装置发送到存储器装置。
