The invention relates to polyester resin capable of being used for a wet-on-wet process as well as a preparation method and application of the polyester resin. The polyester resin comprises the following components in parts by weight: 100 parts of binary/polyhydric alcohol, 130-135 parts of binary/polybasic carboxylic acid and anhydride or ester thereof, and 45-55 parts of medium-chain and long-chain fatty acid.
