Abstract | Provided are an additive for a hydraulic composition, and the hydraulic composition, which allow bleeding to be reduced while maintaining dispersion, slump retention, and separation resistance properties of the hydraulic composition. The additive for the hydraulic composition, includes a copolymer (A) that has a structure derived from a vinyl monomer including a constituent unit (1) and a constituent unit (2), additionally has a structure derived from a hydrophobic chain transfer agent including a sulfur atom, and has a mass-average molecular weight in terms of polyethylene glycol of 100000 to 2000000 as measured by gel permeation chromatography.
