Abstract The invention provides a wire foil winding mechanism and method for a three-dimensional iron core, wherein the wire foil winding mechanism at least comprises an iron core clamping device which is used for adjusting the angle of a target three-dimensional iron core, a driven winding device which sleeves a target core column, and a driving gear device, wherein the driving gear device is meshed with and drives the driven winding device to rotate around the target core column, and the driven winding device drives a wire foil to be wound on the target core column in the rotating process. The wire foil winding mechanism can meet the requirement for large tension required by thick-specification foil strips or coils, the winding process is stable, and no damage is generated to an iron core column.
